Fish Pond

or: What I've had to do to be able to keep spending money on the Mustang!!

(actually it's fun, but don't tell the wife!!)

This shot is from the front porch steps.

Deep hole, about 5 ft when completed.

This shows the location around the house. Notice the #1 pond.

Dark shot of #1 pond.

I'll throw some more on in about a week ( say 8/20/03 or so) so stop back.

Here is the back of the waterfall buildup. You can also see the "marsh" area in the middle.

From the front.

The blocks make it easier to level things up. You won't see them when it's done.

There she is, scrutinizing my hard work again!!

As of 8/28:

Geotextile Barrier installed. It went  up the waterfall area also.

Big rubber!! 25x30 45 mil Firestone. This roll weighed in at 230 pounds!! Michelle and I got it installed ourselves. Lesson: Think before you unfold it!!

Quick shot with some water and the beginning of the rock edging.

An unclear picture of some new Koi. These went into the existing pond, to await transfer into the new one in spring.

  update  9/9/03

Rocks!

Here is a shot from the back of the ponds. I need to get those weeds wacked.

Next update, around 9/20/03

Here is the filter shed. It's about 4x4. Thats a 6 foot stepladder inside. It now has a door and finished roof. I'll post that pic later on.
This thing is heavy!

Here you can see how it relates to the ponds. You also see the water runoff area to the left. This is for the occasional heavy rain. It will be filled with river rock.

Michelle laid out the stones in the marsh area. Than planted her cattails in the muck. They should grow better outside of the pots.

Waterfall up and running! Note the door on the filter house , too!

It'll look great with some green.

Green!
